This Mac release is not Developer ID signed or notarized. macOS may require Apple’s Open Anyway step; setup instructions are included below.

Windows PC test build

This unsigned build has keyboard and mouse sounds only. It has not yet run on a Windows PC, so please treat it as a test—not a finished Windows release. Windows 10/11 x64; extract the whole ZIP before opening the app. Do not disable security software to run it.

First-time setup

Install Typeity without getting stuck.

This release is not notarized, so macOS may block the first launch. Install it before granting permissions; opening a second downloaded copy can cause confusion.

  1. 01

    Open the disk image

Open Typeity-0.19.10.dmg from Downloads. A window with Typeity.app and an Applications shortcut will appear.

  2. 02

    Move it to Applications

Drag Typeity.app onto the Applications shortcut. Wait for the copy, eject the disk image, then open Typeity from Finder → Applications. Using the ZIP fallback? Unzip it and drag the app into Applications yourself.

  3. 03

    Allow the first launch

If macOS only offers Move to Trash or Done, choose Done—then follow the purple instructions below.

  4. 04

    Enable sounds

Allow Input Monitoring, reopen Typeity from Applications, pick a sound pack, and enable Typing Sounds.

Seeing “Apple cannot check it”?

Use Open Anyway in System Settings.

  1. Try to open Typeity.app once. In the warning, click Done or Close—do not move it to Trash.
  2. Open Apple menu → System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down to Security. Next to the message about Typeity, click Open Anyway.
  4. Authenticate with your Mac password or Touch ID, then click Open in the final confirmation.

Can’t see Open Anyway? Try opening Typeity again first, then return immediately. Apple only shows the button for about an hour after a blocked launch.

Grant Input Monitoring

When Typeity asks, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring and switch Typeity on. If macOS asks you to quit and reopen it, launch the copy in Applications. Open Typeity’s Privacy tab and choose Retry Monitor. Look for Global keys in the header. The menu-bar keyboard icon opens its controls.

Only override Gatekeeper for the copy downloaded from clackback.vercel.app. If macOS says the app is damaged or contains malware, do not override it—delete it and download a fresh copy.
